Frank Colón is a Grammy-winning American musician and specialist in Latin-Caribbean, Brazilian, and World percussion instruments, including congas, bongos, timbales, bata drums, shekere, cuica, berimbau, tabla drums, and many others.

As a young player in NYC's jazz scene, he launched his career performing with Walter Booker, Chet Baker, Jaco Pastorious, Michel Camilo, and African master drummer Babatunde Olatunji. He has performed and recorded with Gato Barbieri, Harry Belafonte, Tania Maria, Flora Purim, Airto Moreira, and Weather Report.

In Brazil, Frank has also performed and recorded with Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Ed Motta, João Bosco, Emílio Santiago, Wagner Tiso, Ney Matogrosso, Elba Ramalho, Marina Lima, RPM, João Donato, Toninho Horta, Roberto Menescal, and Marcos Valle.

As a sideman with the Manhattan Transfer for 12 years, he collaborated with the creative sound that got him two Grammy awards. In 1988 he was voted one of the top three "Most Influential Percussionists of the Year" by the readers of Modern Drummer Magazine.
